Like in Bagan region you will pay an entrance fee in Inle Lake. The price is 15000 MMK (approx. €9,00) per person and is established by the government. We payed inside of the bus when we stopped in a checkpoint, before entering in Inle Lake.

We rented a bicycle in our hostel and explored the villages around the lake, bamboo houses and the villagers doing their daily routines. If it’s not so hot it will be a good experience, and it’s a good way to explore the city.
First stop, Maing Thouk Wooden Bridge. The view is spectacular and we could see how local people lives in Inle Lake.
Apart of the temples that you will see during your boat trip, there are other temples and ancient stupas around Inle Lake.
Shwe Inn Dein Pagoda is best known for its many ancient pagodas in many shapes and sizes and in various states of preservation. While some have been restored, others are in their original crumbling state.
